Accessory right hepatic artery and its significance for a surgeon: A case report

Right hepatic artery (RHA) is a branch of the common artery; however, there are cases documented in literature showing anatomical variations. Accessory RHA an incidental finding during hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. This should be identified, carefully separated, preserved these surgeries. We encounter variation while doing Whipple’s procedure 61-year-old patient diagnosed with carcinoma head pancreas. Intra-operatively, accessory was present which arising from superior mesenteric artery. It preserved. Variations origin may make it vulnerable to injuries surgical procedures if due care not taken.
